Cupid and Psyche
Upon thine arrow quiver,
Flash as quick as silver,
Thy mortal wound meant to beauty slay,
For thy beauty far and away
Was more than even a Goddess
to whom mortals pray
And so green in envy they,
Wish to the underworld lay.
But as upon thy bow,
Two arrows go
And one pierce my own flesh
And so to thy love be bound
As two lovers in throws
Of love’s immortal blows.
To Psyche now bound,
Me in my mind thus crowned.
And so in the dark of night,
Beneath the pale moon light,
In darkness goes to thy chamber
Hidden in the cloak of dark
There in the shadows lurk
For thy love forbidden
In the dark I remain hidden.
Cast out the candle light,
So by the moon light
I can see You lay there thus,
Lit by the star light dust.
And in the mind’s lust
It will be me who thrust
Another quiver as quick as sliver,
And shudder in exquisite pleasure
With You as thine mine mortal lover.
But as it be only within thy mind
That I take my sweet love Psyche in kind.
This is a love poem
